The GENESIS G70 is a sport touring sedan that competes with the world's best, and for the money it's very tough to beat.

The G70 is based on the same platform as the Kia Stinger, but the 2022 Genesis G70 offers a lot more luxury. In fact it's packed with so much luxury it rivals sport touring sedans like the BMW-3 series, and the Mercedes Benz C-Class.

From moment I opened the door and slipped in behind the wheel i felt at home. The G70 has a welcoming cockpit. The seats in our test vehicle were supporting and the quilted upholstery added a dash of upscale luxury that still resonates with me even though the car was returned to GENESIS.

The thing that sets the G70 apart from its competitors is price. It is well appointed and it performs as well as anything it is competing with but it does it all for thousands of dollars less. In addition the standard 10-year warranty pacakge is the very best in its class. 10-years is about twice as long as anything else in this class of vehicle.

Yes the G70 may be an "entry level" luxury sport touring sedan, but GENESIS has given the car a makeover and the result is dramatic. The front end is just gorgeous with it's bold big grille, and it really "means business". The rear styling has also been updated. The new style brings the car into alignment with the GV80 SUV.

The infotainment display has been updated for 2022. The screen is larger, and it just looks more upscale.

The G70 offers exceptional value in all trim levels.. Choose the twin turbo 3.3-Litre V-6 and you've got yourself a refined beast of a car. It is powerful and responsive, and it handles great. The car is balanced and the chassis, which is probably the very best part of the car, is stiff sitff stiff, and that is a very very very good thing.

The base G70 2.0T come with a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder that generates 252 horsepower, and transfers that power to an eight-speed automatic transmission via rear wheel drive, with all-wheel drive as an option. Upgrade to the 3.3 - litre twin-turbo with V-6 and you get 365 horsepower. Goosebumps are complimentary. It's a great motor. The more powerful 3.3T has adaptive dampers. One of the most pleasurable aspects of driving the G70 is the road feel. You can feel the road throught the wheel and it feels just right. That feel gives you the information you need a driver to feel like you in tune with the car, like you're part of the machine, and again that is a very very very good things. You can also choose from mutiple drive modes, so the car takes on different personalities depending on how you choose to set it.

With the 2.o-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine you will enjoy 22 mpg city, 30 mpg highway, or 25 mpg combined. The twin-turbo V-6 delivers about 29 mpg combined.

The interiror is well designed and well crafted. It may not be up to the same level as some of its competitors but it is close. Noise leves in the cabin are slightly higher than you will find in Mercedes Benz or BMW, but again it's close in quality. The front seats push back and adjust in such a manner that you can really get yourself into just the right driving position. Even taller drivers will find they fit into the G70 like a hand in a glove. Push back the seat and pull the telescoping steeting wheel toward you and you will not have cramped legs even on a long trip. the back seat has adequate leg room and the quality of the upholstery throughout the cabin is very good.

Every G70 comes with a standard 10.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system. It includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capability. The system is easy to use and we really liked the ambient sounscapes that can be chosen to set the mood inside the car, from cafe background noise to the sounds of a cracklling fire.
